Homecoming

What a past few weeks! Sorry it has been a while since I've last updated, but I have been quite the busy girl! This week was homecoming at Ohio State, and today there was the parade and pep rally. I will say I had no idea that the Buck-I-Guy would be in the parade, but hey, Ohio State is crazy. There was also Gee, Archie Griffin, and the band (plus other floats, but they're really not that important). The previous people I just mentioned all spoke at the pep rally along with the new NCAA president (who is in town to witness his first college football game as president), the AD, and of course the 6 football captains. The football players (minus Dane Sanzenbacher and Cam Hayward) were actually pretty shy. None of them wanted to speak! Hahaha. But here is Dane speaking about the loss to Purdue last year:
Dane Sanzenacher: "We're pissed off. You guys should be pissed off too!"
B. Rolle: "Yeah, I'm pissed too."
Then there was this quote from Gee:
Gordon Gee: "Did you know the Princeton Review ranked Ohio State as the number one most obnoxious school? I'm quite proud of that!"
Oh, and there were free burgers. What could be better than that?

So the Muse concert rocked! It was awesome, a little on the short side (90 minutes including the encore... I mean, Weezer, who played a free show, played 105 minutes), but still an excellent show none the less.

Set list!

The lights were amazing. I mean, that's the reason tickets cost so much!

So many lights!

The best part of the whole show? The very last song each member of Muse put on custom #2 OSU jerseys! Amy and I freaked out. To top it off, the last song they played was Knights of Cydonia. By far my FAVORITE Muse song. There was no other way to end a concert! But on a side note, right before the concert I had a math midterm, and I had to leave straight from the midterm to the concert. So I went to my math midterm all super dressed up (skirt, leather jacket, you know...). That was a fun experience.

Then on that Friday I went to the Blackhawks/ Blue Jackets home opener game with Amy. Oh my god. Student ticket pricing is amazing. For the lower bowl, no matter what game, tickets are $25. Do you know how good of a deal that is? At Nationwide those seats would start at $90, and at United Center those seats where we were sitting would start at $175. But the game was a solid win for the Hawks (5-2!). Amy and I got a lot of people asking us why we were Blackhawks fans if we go to OSU. That was always a fun thing to explain.

Toews!!!!

So not this past weekend but the weekend before was Parents Weekend at Ohio State and my dad came down. Don't get me wrong, it was great seeing him, but I was just dropped off at college 4 weeks ago (well, now 5, but at the time it was 4). And that night was the UW/OSU football game. It ended up being a very sad night (or a happy night if your name is Jack Jablonsky). My dad and I went to a view party at the football practice field, and at the end of the game everyone sung Carmen Ohio. Let me tell you that was the saddest sounding Carmen I've ever sang/heard. It almost made me cry for the wrong reasons. But hey, we killed Purdue this week (49-0!). Oh, and that same weekend a guy named Obama came to Cbus and spoke at the Oval. IT WAS SO FREAKING COOL! Obama gave an amazing speech. I guess it was the largest crowd for an Obama rally ever (35,000+). So at one point in his speech Obama had a giant car metaphor that was talking about Dems and the GOP and how the Dems inherited a giant mess from the Bush administration and how the Dems had to fix the mess/"car" basically by themselves. At the end of the giant metaphor, Obama goes:
Obama: "What do you have to put your car in for it to go forward?"
Crowd: "D!"
Obama: "And what do you have to put your car in for it to go backwards?"
Crowd: "R!"
Get it? So. witty.

This past school week came and went. Nothing too special to report. I honestly don't even remember what happened. All I know is that I had the easiest chem lab of the year on Thursday (50 minutes instead of the normal 3 hours) and I'm pretty sure I also took the easiest calc quiz too. I best be getting 100% or else I will be upset with myself. Other than that, nothing much else. OH! I GOT MY HALLOWEEN COSTUME! Mackenzi and I are being flappers, me with a black dress and her with a white one. We open up the package yesterday to find that my dress is called "Chicago Flapper" and hers is called "Broadway Babe". For those of you that don't know Mackenzi, she is an actress and really wants to be on Broadway, and I, well, am from Chicago! We had no idea. We freaked out. It was great.

This Wednesday is Hug A Ginger Day. You all better participating!

I can finally put picture from my camera onto my mac so here is a picture or two of my dorm!

Desk! If you send me something I will probably put it on my cork board... just a little incentive :)

My clothes barely fit. I think I'm using 58/60 hangers.

I think that's all...
